AT&T and University of Tennessee Partner to Bring 5G Testbed to Knoxville Campus

Futurum lead analyst Shelly Kramer covers the announcement by AT&T and University of Tennessee on their partnership to build a 5G testbed to its Knoxville campus testing the expansion of mmWave 5G to rural areas. This partnership will afford students expanded learning opportunities and the ability to experiment and learn in situations that would otherwise be cost prohibitive or impossible due to location. UT joins Texas A&M, the University of Connecticut and the University of Missouri who likewise have partnerships with AT&T, although this partnership between AT&T and UT is primarily focused on mmWave and MEC applications.
