As technology becomes more and more a part of everyday life, there is an evolution that will take place in the future of the way we live our lives and the way we work. Companies no longer outfit employees with technology like mobile devices as an additional way to communicate; rather the device becomes the central command center. In essence it is a fully capable computing machine that is more powerful than some of the best desktops from just a few years ago.

As cloud makes everything more accessible, mobile removes tethers for employees and big data frees the enterprise from making decisions based on gut and intuition, we are moving in a direction where technology is the means to solving business and personal challenges, but it isn’t the reason.

In the future technology will be invisible. The millennials are the first generation that grew up with tech as an everyday part of their life. But the millennials became accustomed to gadgets and devices. The children of millennials will see a world where tech is embedded. It may be in a mobile device, but it may be a watch, a contact lens or clothing covered in sensors. Data will be constantly reporting back and our devices will become a means to data visualization, but the data and communication will be created through living our lives not through inputting information into some system.

Then what comes next is only more interesting. A world of singularity. A world where we are one with the machine. Artificial intelligence (AI) in ourselves as we potentially become the machine; some may suggest that we are already?

The tech invisible future is going to be more social, and more dependent than ever on technology, only the tech itself will grow increasingly invisible as we harness its power to be be more connected, more untethered and more intelligent in the way we make our decisions about life, work and everything in between.
