Weiss explores the news from Amazon’s Project Kuiper announcing the signing of contracts with three rocket companies to provide heavy-lift launch services of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites in what is being touted as the largest commercial procurement of launch vehicles in history. Amazon’s Project Kuiper expects to send some 3,200+ satellites skyward on about 83 launches over the next five years to get rural broadband services up and running across the globe, helping to address the digital divide in much-needed ways.
